Meet the Designer

Hi, I’m Darcy. I look forward to working with you!

Who I am? Wife, mom, teacher, graphic designer, photographer, writer, speaker and geek. I love my wild family, my Nikon, coffee and I’m a total closet show-tunes geek. I never set out to be a designer. I had a love affair with typography since I was child, doodling alongside my school notes… inventing new ways to make letters. While the other school girls were practicing their names with their crush’s last name, I was making new alphabets. Even as a science major, all my notes had doodles, drop caps and squiggles. Someone really should have redirected this poor girl!

This love affair started as a hobby, and all the cards fell into place when I realized this could be an actual job. From my passion to make my own space unique, grew a network of beautiful blogs that now spans 5 continents and in several languages. After about 2 years of making blogs pretty, I poured myself into learning about the interior structure of what makes a good blog. Confused about SEO, branding your blog, growing your audience and “blog identity”? You’re not alone.

I’ve made it my goal to make great design and browser-compatible builds available to your budget. I guarantee my blogs work in the latest releases of Firefox, Safari, Chrome and yes, even {inferior} Internet Explorer. This means your content reaches the widest variety of readers. Great blogging means more than just a pretty photoshopped graphic. I’ve dedicated hours of research into logos, branding, identity – learning from the iconic legacies of the industry greats.

I have degrees in Speech Pathology & Audiology as well as Italian Language. I spent my education learning about language – how we communicate, learn and share. Turns out coding is simply another foreign language. Blogging is a fun, powerful and exciting way to communicate, learn and share. And my guidance counselor thought I’d never use my degrees!
